NASA Returns to Space

The recent lift-off of the Space Shuttle Discovery looks good. Apparently they only lost one tile, some unknown debris, and hit a bird. Hopefully all goes well. I'm really looking forward to this, considering the one two years ago happened right aroud my birthday. Good luck guys!

Avatar Creations - For the less artistically inclined

Okay, the subject should also read "Or artistically lazy", because that's what I am.

Anyway, my Father asked me where I got my current AIM avatar. I had to look to find it again, and I found some other stuff too.

Dookyweb.com is the acctual one. It's flashbased.

Illustmaker is the first one I found. I like the simplicity.

But, for me, there is always a soft spot for Doll makers. And now this one is my favorite.

Learn Japanese

For those of you who wish to learn Japanese (Or you japanese folk who wish to learn English) There's a friendly site that I have been a member of since it's maiden days. (Though admittadly, I haven't participated at all)

Now the creator has added an english side, where the japanese can pose questions about grammar and proper words. I may see if I can help out now, but I'm still trying to figure out what an object pronoun is.

Website is here: English2Day

Alias Sketchbook Pro

The creators of Maya software now have a free trial for thier Sketchbook Pro product. This would be SO FREAKINGLY COOL if my stupid 4-year-old tablet weren't dead. XP I would gladly appreciate if anyone can just DONATE a newer Graphire 3 or even an Intuos, but nobody reads this. 'Cause y'all suck.

So, if you DO read this, then show me what you've done in Sketchbook. I'll post it!

While browsing the net, I found a Cafepress store selling Firefly Swag. Schweet! I wouldn't mind owning the Blue Sun shirt.

Free Art Program!

Ambient Design has a program which mimics Procreate Painter. I haven't tried it yet, I'm helping my grandparents trash the Winebago, but I will update and show you what it's like when I can.

Thanks, Wood, for sending me the link.

EDIT: I have tried it, and I like it alot. I will post the resulting image(s) tomorrow. :D Fun!

Otaku no jinsei ha yabai na! Hai?

"In English, an otaku (plural usually otaku, since Japanese words are not pluralized using an "s") is a variety of geek (or an overly obsessed fanboy / fangirl) specializing in anime and manga. A simplistic English translation might be 'culture hermit'."

From Wikipedia. More Here.

~~~
So, here you are, reading the Otaku Gene.
The name otaku in Japanese connotes "male nerd." Writer William Gibson calls them "passionate obsessives."
And since we are all familiar in one way or another with such "male nerds", I hope to reach out to all of you ataku. I give you my warm and humble welcome.
I myself am not a "male nerd". I'm more accurately a "female nerd". And I am also horribly underage and underprivelidged, so don't expect any updates from Otakon or such. I can't do that on my budget (0$)
So, what do I obsess about? Mainly, I obsess over Furries, or, Anthropomorphic animals. I have been drawing myself as a Red Wolf since fifth grade or so, and have still continued it even 4 years later. I also geek out over Anime, Manga, Video Games, Ameture Art, Science Fiction, and Fantasy. Though I don't generally play MMORPGS, since I am a Mac person, I'll still try to include everybody.
Oh, and in case you haven't noticed, all my referral links are to Wikipedia. You'll see alot of that.
And with that breif introduction, I leave you. Enjoy what is to come.
