Super Kids Camp Day 1
I've been wanting to post this for a few days, but Blogger was giving me trouble. So without further ado, I give you my agenda from friday to sunday the 20th
SUPER KIDS CAMP.
We got there a good 45 minutes early. First, mom wanted to get snacks to share, and then we went and picked up Tyler. So Tyler and I hung out in front of the school until Master Langdon showed up. Shortly after, everyone else came up and the teens (Who at this point were Nelson, Ted, Tyler and I) helped pack wood and get squared away. Packed about 8 boxes of wood, which are all broken boards that students had broken throughout the year. Only, the boxes were left outside all year as well, so they were falling apart badly. We also grabbed a few trunks from the obstacle course. One of which Tyler dropped on my hand, scratching it up and bruising it pretty nicely. I was fine, but he was still extremely apologetic. How sweet. :)
Once everyone was there, we wrote names on bags and pillows and things that needed naming. I came in handy with my large bag of sharpies, and once we were ready, we piled into the car. Nelson, Tyler and I rode with Mrs. Springer, Ryan's mom. We thought we were lost, but it turns out we didn't yet come across the turn. So after about 45 minutes we got there and helped unpack.First time lining up, we were assigned squads. Somehow I got chosen to be co-captain of squad six (Later named the Serenity Vipers) and when we did the challenge to find our headbands, we were white. The first day was rather uneventful. We ate sloppy joes for dinner and just hung around. Timmy, one boy in Squad five (Tyler's squad, which was mostly boys except for Courtney, who was little and adorable and whom Tyler was very protective of) came up and announced "I love you." and explained he had a crush on me. He's like, seven. So at the time it was cute, so I smiled and joked and hugged him, and he and Tyler half-fought for me. This would continue for the rest of the weekend, and each time get progressively less cute and more annoying. Especially since Timmy had respect issues, not being a Taekwondo student.
Unfortunately, since we ate late, we had no time for s'mores since the little ones had a curfew at ten. Younger than 10, they went to bed at 10. 10 to 12 year olds went to bed at 11, and the teens had the privelidge to stay up as late as they wanted. Everyone though had to be up at 7 in the morning. Miss Deal shared the story of the Gummy Lion with us, which is a horrible tale about this old mountain lion that despises loud noises. But since he is so old, he has no teeth, so all he can do is gum you to death. The littler ones were horrified. The teens were amused. We later regretted ever going along with the story, since some of our kids were up till four in the morning freaking out about every little noise and moving shape outside the tent.(I also had a nightmare about the Gummy Lion during the 5 - 20 minutes I got sleep that night, but mine only had two legs and no eyes. *Shudder* )

So, the teens eventually were left. Everyone left the fire, so it was just Tyler and I sitting there, keeping it warm and sharing a very small blanket. Master Langdon joined us and we talked and had fun. Shared our stories about almost setting our houses on fire. Then we were invited into Barry's (Master Prebos's) minivan, where somehow 8 people were squeezed in. And we stayed there until about 1 in the morning, where we got kicked out because Barry wanted to sleep.
And instantly, we didn't want to do anything. It was way too friggin' cold up there in the mountains, and some of us hadn't layered yet. The low was 32 degrees farenheit, and it certainly felt like it. So I climb into my tent which is littered with all the little girls and thier stuff, tried to find my bag amidst the chaos in the dark. The guys who were about 15 feet away, stayed up and played blackjack for a good long time, seriously pissing off the girls in my tent, even though I told them to ignore them and just go to sleep. And somewhere in the middle of the night, someone had to pee, asked for my light, and smacked me in the face.
At this point, I decided screw it, I'm going outside.
So for another hour, I was up and sitting outside. Tyler joined me shortly. As did the other kids. Finally it came time to line up at 7 in our squads, and so began day two...
